HRIS Analyst
Contract to Hire
Kansas City, MO
Conversion Salary- $41,000-$63,000


Job Summary 

The HRIS Analyst combines and applies knowledge of Human Resources (HR) business processes and HR Information Systems (HRIS), experience using technical tools, and understanding of the technical environment to provide production application support and maintenance for supported HR applications, to enhance existing HR technology, and to implement new HR technology. 

 

Key Activities
• Provide production application support and maintenance for HRIS applications; conduct research and analysis to determine cause of reported issues; provide basic problem resolution and/or make recommendations to senior staff or management.
• Participate in enhancements to existing technology and the implementation of new technologies of varying complexity; develop functional requirements according to standard templates; develop project artifacts such as charters and schedules.
• Maintain documentation for all assigned cases; ensure documentation is thorough and complete; develop user manuals and training materials to describe functionality.
• Perform duties including testing, data mapping, maintaining security, creating reports and queries, training users, etc.
• Build knowledge and skills needed to improve work performance.
• Performs most routine day-to-day assignments under general supervision. May handle some unusual issues independently, but predominately consults with senior staff on such issues. Complex tasks require close guidance from senior staff and work is often checked to determine effectiveness.
• Applies basic knowledge of HR business processes and/or automated applications to routine assignments, and builds knowledge of technical tools.
• Demonstrates analytical skill to research data/alternatives and arrive at sound conclusions; uses
and expands knowledge of known resources.
• Handles several tasks simultaneously; prioritizes work independently; uses time effectively.
• Communicates effectively; presents material in a concise and well-organized manner; selects
appropriate methods for communication.
• Takes ownership for assignments and accountability for results; accepts various assignments to expand knowledge; takes responsibility for own development and performance improvement.
• Identifies customers and understands their needs; considers needs in decisions and actions; responds appropriately to requests from customers.

 

Additional Moderate to Senior Level Key Activities
• Conduct research and analysis, provide problem resolution, and make recommendations for resolving production issues of moderate complexity.
• Manage moderately complex enhancement or implementation projects independently; lead project meetings; document action items and decisions.

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree specializing in human resources, business, related computer technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic knowledge of HR business processes and/or automated applications.
• Exposure to automated systems for the purpose of providing production support, enhancements, testing, or other related tasks preferred.

Entry Level - One year experience supporting automated systems or two years of business analysis experience preferred.

Intermediate to Senior Level - Two to four years of experience supporting automated systems in a production support capacity, and/or participating in technology enhancement projects; or two years of business analysis experience plus one year of experience supporting automated systems.
• Intermediate problem solving skills to evaluate multiple alternatives and recommend a course of action.
• Intermediate communication skills, including oral and written communication, primarily for the purpose of conveying information to teammates and customers.
• Novice to senior project management skills including knowledge of project management documentation and practices.
• Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS, Taleo Recruiting, or Cornerstone Talent Management highly desirable.
• Experience using query tools is preferred.
• Experience implementing new technology, enhancing existing technology, and troubleshooting moderately complex application issues.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
